Easter and Born Again

Good Morning,

As we start our journey into Easter Weekend. I wanted to share my thoughts.

I know a lot of people say the misrepresentation of Easter is diminishing the significance of it. The fact is we as Christians need to focus on the significance. Not the commercial aspect.  Gifts that anyone can give are nothing in comparison to the ACT the Lord and Savior did for ALL OF US when he went to the Cross.

Thin about what crimes would have got someone Crucified in Jesus's Time. The Romans developed Crucifixion as away to suppress rebellion against thee command. Part of the crucifixion was being scourged. Thus having ones back torn to shreds by a flagrum a device that removed flesh even with one stroke. So you would be held out in a public area and essentially whipped with the Flagrum till near death then be forced to be put on a cross via Nails and hung up right. Thus having your back against the rugged exposed wood of the cross arms out causing the breathing to become pain full and you would have to push up on your ankles that are nailed as well to relieve the chest pain.

IF the Romans got tired of waiting they would break your legs to prevent you using them to aid in your breathing.

This is what Jesus endured  (Minus the broken Legs)  for us his children who would come later. We would commit the sins he paid for. As humans we are NOT flawless. We have era's We have issues , we slip we fall.  Even when are friends are not there Jesus is.

So on Easter Remember this is the day when Jesus rose again from the grave and proceeded to be next to God. Shocking the Romans and those around that in 3 days he went from dead to Risen. This is why we celebrate Easter. Not the Dinner, Candy , Easter bunny. The fact a man died to protect us and went through such unbelievable pain and suffering for things he was not guilty of.    To give us Ever Lasting Life.

walking the walk

Have you ever been witnessed too?

then thought that the persons actions speak much louder then what they said. I have.

Simple fact quit judging man by weight, race, tattoos, exc. Its not your job. Its Gods.

Consider for a moment what your actions say to others around you, other Christians , but more so the non Christians. If your actions are self absorbing,  egocentric, narcissistic and cruel then are you really helping spread Gods amazing word?

Do you leave those cheesy verse tracs on the back of fake money? STOP! think about it.

IF you have worked 12 hrs at a below minimum wage job  come out to bus a table and saw what you thought was a $20 on the table and you knew they had paid all ready. How would you feel? Now assume as you got to the end of your shift your counting your tips change and cash you open up that 20 and discover its not a tip but a piece of paper with a scripture on it. You think back thats the only tip on that table. You just destroyed the value to that person. Will they read it? probably not will they think of you negatively for this. yes. Will it effect their views on Christianity, Very likely Yes.

We have all been taught that their are other religious views. We dont have to agree with them. However our actions as Christians speak to those people as well. Think about it. If they see you stand before someone getting yelled at and you never raise your voice back and you simply keep calm and peaceful. That speaks to them. If they ask you , you can use this to share how God has given you the ability to remain at peace while others are in an uproar.
