Religion and band wagons

My Religion is not a Band Wagon. I am a Christian. I live in the Word, My beliefs are in the Word. Not in the man preaching them. Not in the ladies teaching in bible study. My Belief is in the My Lord and Savior. I dont go to church for gossip hour or anything other then to learn and grow in My Faith.

Its not a game. Its not picking teams. My team was picked years ago when Jesus Christ died for my sins. He picked to defend me and put me on his team. I am forever grateful for that.

Daily Debate with in my head

Every day i try and take some time and focus on what has GOD done in my life lately.

Recently I had the chance to examine my life and I found that oddly enough discovered how far I have come.

I realized in my junior year of high school i was missing something in life. I discovered that was The only Lord and Savior who died for anyone and everyone's sins so that as sinners we could have ever lasting life through him and his blood shed for us.

Since 2001 when I was baptized in a small church in Texas I have discovered that I am not perfect. I have many flaws with Jesus's love i have learned to accept them work on them but not let them hold me back.

If you ask my friends and teachers in high school would they ever imagine me as a teacher, all the more a substitute teacher. Kids have always tried to tick off subs. I know when i was in school that was the case.

With Gods Grace I have been able to calm down focus and help teachers by substituting and engaging students in the class room in their absence. Thanks to God divine intervention and saving grace I have got an education and left dead end jobs in my past. With the ability to change and help others.

Easter and Born Again

Good Morning,

As we start our journey into Easter Weekend. I wanted to share my thoughts.

I know a lot of people say the misrepresentation of Easter is diminishing the significance of it. The fact is we as Christians need to focus on the significance. Not the commercial aspect.  Gifts that anyone can give are nothing in comparison to the ACT the Lord and Savior did for ALL OF US when he went to the Cross.

Thin about what crimes would have got someone Crucified in Jesus's Time. The Romans developed Crucifixion as away to suppress rebellion against thee command. Part of the crucifixion was being scourged. Thus having ones back torn to shreds by a flagrum a device that removed flesh even with one stroke. So you would be held out in a public area and essentially whipped with the Flagrum till near death then be forced to be put on a cross via Nails and hung up right. Thus having your back against the rugged exposed wood of the cross arms out causing the breathing to become pain full and you would have to push up on your ankles that are nailed as well to relieve the chest pain.

IF the Romans got tired of waiting they would break your legs to prevent you using them to aid in your breathing.

This is what Jesus endured  (Minus the broken Legs)  for us his children who would come later. We would commit the sins he paid for. As humans we are NOT flawless. We have era's We have issues , we slip we fall.  Even when are friends are not there Jesus is.

So on Easter Remember this is the day when Jesus rose again from the grave and proceeded to be next to God. Shocking the Romans and those around that in 3 days he went from dead to Risen. This is why we celebrate Easter. Not the Dinner, Candy , Easter bunny. The fact a man died to protect us and went through such unbelievable pain and suffering for things he was not guilty of.    To give us Ever Lasting Life.

walking the walk

Have you ever been witnessed too?

then thought that the persons actions speak much louder then what they said. I have.

Simple fact quit judging man by weight, race, tattoos, exc. Its not your job. Its Gods.

Consider for a moment what your actions say to others around you, other Christians , but more so the non Christians. If your actions are self absorbing,  egocentric, narcissistic and cruel then are you really helping spread Gods amazing word?

Do you leave those cheesy verse tracs on the back of fake money? STOP! think about it.

IF you have worked 12 hrs at a below minimum wage job  come out to bus a table and saw what you thought was a $20 on the table and you knew they had paid all ready. How would you feel? Now assume as you got to the end of your shift your counting your tips change and cash you open up that 20 and discover its not a tip but a piece of paper with a scripture on it. You think back thats the only tip on that table. You just destroyed the value to that person. Will they read it? probably not will they think of you negatively for this. yes. Will it effect their views on Christianity, Very likely Yes.

We have all been taught that their are other religious views. We dont have to agree with them. However our actions as Christians speak to those people as well. Think about it. If they see you stand before someone getting yelled at and you never raise your voice back and you simply keep calm and peaceful. That speaks to them. If they ask you , you can use this to share how God has given you the ability to remain at peace while others are in an uproar.

Do you wonder

Do you ever wonder why some people say they are Christians but then act in a manor that is so UN-compelling that its no wonder non Christians  tend to think of those self professed Christians as bible thumping verse spouting hypocrites?

Because they have over looked one thing. For mortals to understand how amazing Gods love was. Jesus had to come to the earth and live as  a mortal and die as a mortal for thing he never did. Our sins. To be raised from the dead and show us that OUR GOD is an amazing, all knowing God who loved us so much he let HIS SON die for us. So that we can have the ever lasting peaceful internment in heaven.

Its not a matter of living life to the fullest its a matter of living life for GOD. Letting every action we have represent what GOD has done for us in our lives. Being thankful his hand continues to guide and shape the person we are. We are truly works in progress.

Being in an ART major in college. It shocked the few that decided to go into this debate with me. The most talented amazing artist out there. Is God him self. Logically , he is a sculpture. He created Man. From the dust of the earth. (ie dried clay). He created the sun and the stars of which we see every night and day and many have tried to capture and duplicate in works of art. None as amazing as the original thing.

There is nothing i can not do when i am doing Gods work. He will provide for me. Guide me through what is before me and ahead of me. For only he knows where the path he has for me is , where it goes, and when it will end.

my path to understanding

Confession: in high school I knew something was missing from my life. I started going to church again and after a few weeks here and there I went to Fairview Baptist church on the north side of Grand Prairie it is there after graduation I was baptized.
As college occurred I co to use to attend when life happened I was unable to attend for a few reasons
Years later I started going to freedom biker church in Lafeyette that's where it hit me the building means nothing if the people around you have the hearts right. That church meet by a bayou at that point and tattoos meant nothing patches meant nothing what mattered was Jesus. I moved to Florida and found a church that felt right not judge mental not so big I felt like a number not so small everyone knew when you sneezed.
Over the past two years I've come to know many at my church more then just Sunday service. I am proud to be surrounded by a group of believers and feel it's where God wants me at this time.
I am aware the day could come where I no longer am suppose to be here and am lead to other areas but I clearly remember the feeling the first time when I realized worship and praise go beyond any decoration and building. Sometimes the best time with God I have had is one on one the other times bible study and open discussions it's all about what gods wanting me to see here and do!
Through this I had been places churches included I now feel God did not want me. They are not listed. Being surrounded by hypocrite who believe in Jesus is not good either.
I'm happy at my church home and feel it's where I'm suppose to be now...Free Rider Fellowship

Today i understand that exterior facades are just that. An outer shell that does not always indicate what is really inside.  That expecting any church to be perfect is not fair. Churches are made up of human beings who are by nature flawed. No one is perfect the only perfect man was Jesus Christ. It does not matter if your church has fancy chair pews or such it matters if those that are there are focused on what is important and not posing as stumbling blocks for you and others. Listening to Gods direction will lead you where he has intended you to go.

Do we

As a child of God it's my firm belief that we never out grow the term Child as God will always be with us and watch over us. Our Heavenly father who if we listen guides us and helps us grow our faith! Everyday rather threw trials or victories we learn to listen and to rely on God and help each other!

Hopefully as we continue to grow in our faith we learn to accept others and not judge them as we once did before finding God.
